Epic Games is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to support the meta-progression systems area. You’ll apply mixed methods to own the end-to-end life cycle of creating data assets, reports, insights, to impact the direction of efforts across Epic’s portfolio of products and ecosystems, with a particular focus on our meta-progression systems, like XP and Quests. The successful candidate will have the ability to apply a range of data technologies, statistical methods, and visualization methods to influence development and product teams, and to partner with stakeholders across all parts of the business.
This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA & WA).
The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).

California Base Pay Range
$159,700—$234,226 USD
Washington Base Pay Range
$145,181—$212,933 USD

Partner with design, game development, and product management to identify opportunities and develop metrics/insights. Work with programming and data platform teams to scope and capture data. Transform raw data into models, reports, and insights. Continuously evaluate metric effectiveness and align with ecosystem growth. Design, test, and learn from experiments to improve games. Lead and mentor a team of data analysts. At least 5 years of industry or relevant experience with live service video games. At least 2 years of experience managing data professionals. Strong product intuition and demonstrated background in influencing products with data. Experience with instrumenting data and ensuring data quality. Experience with efficient and scalable SQL. Development experience in Python analytics ecosystem. Familiarity with Code version control (Github), Orchestration (Airflow), AI coding tools (Claude Code). Understanding of experimental design and A/B testing techniques. Advanced statistical training is a plus. Experience in a "full-stack" data environment is a plus.
