CD PROJEKT RED is looking for an Expert Technical Artist with a focus on Art and Visuals to join our team working on The Witcher 4, the first game in a brand-new saga. You will bring advanced artistic and technical skills along with attention to detail and a passion for developing high-quality, accessible visuals that meet our ambitious artistic and technological goals.
(This position requires working in our Warsaw Hub. Hybrid working mode available)
Daily Responsibilities:
Collaborate with artists, engineers, and designers to ensure creative alignment, propose rendering approaches, and translate ideas into achievable realities.
Conduct regular audits of content integrity from physically-based rendering material values and shaders across environments and characters to the stability of lighting and post-production systems.
Contribute to the look development effort by analysing visual targets and breaking them down into actionable, real-time-ready proposals.
Review artistic pipelines and processes to identify potential improvements and propose as well as prototype methods or automation solutions to increase efficiency and productivity.
Mentor and guide fellow developers on best practices and technical approaches to content creation and rendering.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve rendering and performance-related challenges while maintaining visual coherence across the scalability targets of various platforms.
Research emerging trends and advancements in rendering technology and outstanding visual achievements.
Typically 7+ years of experience in real-time graphics, rendering, physical-based lighting, and shading PBR pipeline or technical artistry, particularly with Unreal Engine.
A portfolio that showcases your excellence in artistry and computer graphics development with finished projects, preferably showcasing a variety of fields like movies, commercials, and games.
Strong understanding and proven experience in developing and using computer graphics workflows (lighting, rendering, shaders), particularly with Unreal Engine.
Proficiency in HLSL, GLSL, or other shader/programming languages.
Effective communication in a team setting, including documenting or visually explaining complex ideas".
Initiative in driving shared goals, mentoring peers, and contributing both independently and collaboratively.
Demonstrated interest in visual aesthetics and design as well as creative and strategic problem-solving abilities that foster innovation.
Comfortable with iterative processes and learning from feedback, using feedback and data to continuously refine solutions, comfortably work in cycles of prototyping, testing, and improvement, maintaining flexibility and openness to change.
Working mode
In-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity in Warsaw, Poland. Relocation is required.

Estimated pay range for this position: 33 300 – 45 815 PLN gross monthly. This role may be eligible for a long term incentive program (option to purchase CDPR stock after the vesting period).
