Lead high-impact release management and automation strategies for Scopely's top live and cross-platform games, defining technical standards and driving operational excellence through AI-assisted approaches and a team of managers.
Scopely is looking for a Senior Technical Director, Release Management & Automation (AI) to join the Central team. This role is located in our Barcelona office with a hybrid working policy.
This is a senior, high-impact leadership role on Central Studio Operations (CSO)—the team that partners directly with Scopely’s highest-revenue live products and our most ambitious cross-platform titles in development. You’ll operate at the intersection of operational excellence, deep technical strategy, and organization-wide influence.
Leading a team of managers and senior individual contributors, you will define the standards and “paved roads” that multiple game and central teams adopt by default—earning alignment through strong partnerships with studio leadership. Your mandate is clear: deliver measurable step-change improvements in release quality, delivery velocity, development of internal CSO solutions, and operational resilience at scale.

Own and execute roadmaps for CSO Release Management and Automation capabilities. Define Scopely-wide standards for release readiness, risk management, and go/no-go criteria. Build lightweight, repeatable governance and establish operational metrics. Lead a team of managers and senior engineers across release engineering and automation disciplines. Partner with game TDs, D2C, and Publishing to create industry-leading solutions. Requires experience with game development (preferably Unity), RM across mobile, PC, and Console, and engineering leadership including managing managers. Strong technical background in modern delivery practices, automation, and experience with AI/ML-assisted approaches.
