Lead Game Analyst - Old School RuneScape

Office location: Cambridge, UK – This position offers flexible working options, including predominantly remote work. However, applicants should be based (or willing to relocate) within a comfortable commuting distance of our office to attend onsite as required.

Are you a data-driven leader who wants to transform player behaviour into meaningful insights that shape the future of one of the world's most iconic MMORPGs?

As Lead Analyst on Old School RuneScape, you'll lead a team of analysts responsible for uncovering the insights that drive better player experiences, smarter product decisions, and long-term business success. Working closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and senior leadership, you'll help shape the roadmap of Old School RuneScape by turning complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.

This is a highly influential role where you'll combine technical expertise, analytical thinking, and leadership to ensure data sits at the heart of decision-making across one of gaming's most successful live service titles.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Analysts, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and analytical excellence.
• Build strong relationships with Old School RuneScape teams to develop a deep understanding of product strategy, player needs, and business priorities.
• Deliver insights and business intelligence that directly influence product strategy, feature development, and roadmap planning.
• Transform complex datasets into clear recommendations that support better decision-making across Product, Design, and Leadership.
• Query, analyse, and interpret large datasets to uncover opportunities to improve player engagement, retention, and overall game experience.
• Partner closely with Engineering and Design teams to develop and enhance game telemetry and data collection.
• Collaborate with central Data teams to define data requirements and contribute to the evolution of shared data products.
• Develop deep knowledge of Old School RuneScape's gameplay systems, mechanics, and player behaviours to provide meaningful context to analysis.
• Champion data-driven thinking across the game team and promote best practices in analytics and reporting.

What we're looking for:

• Experience leading or mentoring analysts within an analytics, business intelligence, or data-focused environment.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets and data cleansing techniques.
• A demonstrable understanding of video game player behaviours, particularly in MMORPGs.
• Familiarity with modern data platforms and architectures such as AWS, Snowflake, and OLAP technologies.
• Experience using data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence decision-making across multiple disciplines.
