👀 The Role
Title: Compliance Operations Manager
Team: Compliance
Location: Cape Town, South Africa
We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day performance of our Safer Gambling operations in South Africa, with the potential to expand into Anti-Financial Crime as we grow.
As our first role of its kind in Cape Town, you’ll help shape how Compliance operates in a growing global hub. You’ll lead through Team Leaders, improve performance and build a culture where people take ownership and keep raising the bar.
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you’ll work across the business to turn strategy into strong day-to-day execution.
You Will
Own the day-to-day performance of our Cape Town Compliance teams.
Lead, coach and develop Team Leaders and their teams.
Manage resourcing, productivity, quality, SLAs and backlogs.
Use data to spot problems, remove blockers and improve performance.
Turn strategy into clear, effective operational processes.
Drive a culture of ownership, curiosity and continuous improvement.
Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing development.
Keep operational policies, processes and documentation sharp and audit-ready.
Build strong relationships across Compliance and the wider business.
The Next Midniter
Is an experienced, people-first operational leader.
Has led teams of 30–60 people in fast-paced, changing environments.
Knows how to improve frontline leadership and team performance.
Understands productivity, QA, SLAs and backlog management.
Can read the data, spot operational risks and act on them.
Is confident challenging constructively and working across teams.
Has experience in regulated, high-volume or operationally complex environments.
Is adaptable and comfortable helping build something as it scales.
Safer Gambling or Anti-Financial Crime experience is a bonus, not a must.
