X Studios seeks a Master Carpenter with 5+ years in exhibit fabrication and custom casework. Interpret designs, craft custom components for interactive exhibits, and mentor junior carpenters. This 6-8 week contract role for major brands offers potential for full-time employment.
Flying Bark Productions is a dynamic and innovative animation studio dedicated to pushing the boundaries of character animation and storytelling. We are working on exciting projects such as Avatar: The Last Airbender feature film, Netflix's Ghostbusters animated series and Stranger Things animated series, as well as our production Tales From Outer Suburbia by Shaun Tan.
The CG FX Artist participates in the creation of the film's various FX under the direction of the CG FX Supervisor and the CG Supervisor. The artist relies on both strong technical skills and a developed aesthetic sense to produce high quality FX, true to the style of the film. The artist will be responsible for the creation of setups and the propagation of simulations such as fire, smoke, water, particles etc. in the shots. The manufacturing of these FX will be done in accordance with the internal technical workflow and the artistic vision established on the project.
About you:
Minimum requirement of 5+ years production experience in 3D animated films and/or animated episodic;
Portfolios with mature, graphic stylization of reality preferred. Somewhat in the vein of Spiderverse, Entergalactic, Arcane and The Witness [Love, Death, Robots] ;
Demo Reel focused on FX in CG animated films/animated episodic, not VFX;
Excellent knowledge of Houdini, Katana and Arnold with knowledge of Maya and Nuke an advantage;
Efficiently execute lookdev and high quality 3D effects including a full range of customary CG effects such as particles, fluids and destruction;
Assist in setting up or maintaining the library of effects presets which can be loaded and applied to multiple shots;
Generate compatible caches to export into various software, rendering the effects in show compatible image format elements as needed;
Assist with training and provide ongoing support for junior crew members if required.
