Sumo India are looking for Lead Technical Designer to join our growing team of designers focused on building robust and cohesive levels and gameplay experiences for a variety of multi-platform titles, in collaboration with our UK based teams.
As a Lead Technical Designer in the World discipline, you will bridge the gap between Level Design and Engineering. Through application of a strong knowledge of both design theory and technical know-how, you’ll empower other designers to prototype, iterate and implement world and gameplay content efficiently, ensuring that gameplay systems, content, tools and workflows are efficient, scalable, and technically sound.
Implement gameplay content, level systems and LD tools, using visual or text-based scripting.
Support Level Designers with technical problem-solving and workflow optimisation.
Translate high-level design intent into technically feasible solutions.
Build prototypes to help validate ideas quickly.
Develop and maintain technical design documentation for level features and content.
Communicate constraints, risks, and trade-offs early and clearly.
Regularly review the work of non-technical designers to ensure workflows are optimal, content is developed systemically, and technical constraints are understood / upheld.
