// Open Role at Bespoke Pixel
Join Bespoke Pixel, an independent studio creating an extraordinary open-world multiplayer game for a well-known IP. As a Level Designer, you'll take ownership of gameplay spaces from greybox to polish, utilizing Unreal Engine 5 and collaborating across disciplines.
At Bespoke Pixel, we're all about creating something extraordinary. We’re a small, fully funded, independent studio working on a well-known IP, and we’re pushing boundaries when it comes to gameplay and quality. Our experienced team is a blend of creativity and technical brilliance—and now, we’re looking for a Level Designer to join the team and help shape our world.
We are seeking a passionate Level Designer to build engaging gameplay spaces for a large open-world multiplayer map. Reporting to the Level Design Director, you will take levels from initial greybox through to final polish, exercising strong creative ownership, proactivity, and independence within the project's high-level vision.
What you will do
End-to-End Ownership: Design, block out, and polish levels from early graybox through implementation, playtesting, and optimization.
Hands-on UE5 Workflow: Work directly in Unreal Engine 5 using blockouts and rapid prototyping to test and iterate on ideas.
Multiplayer & Spatial Design: Create clear, engaging spaces that support movement, combat, traversal, and player guidance on a large scale.
Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Work directly with gameplay programmers and artists to align mechanics, systems, and visual environments.
Quality & Scope Management: Balance design ambition with technical constraints, identifying risks early and making pragmatic choices.
Engine & Tool Proficiency: Practical, hands-on experience in Unreal Engine 5 and greyboxing workflows.
Proven Track Record: Professional level design experience on PC or console games, ideally with at least one shipped title.
Open World / Multiplayer experience: Strong understanding of spatial composition, player flow, pacing, metrics, and systemic gameplay.
Proactive & Independent Mindset: Self-driven ability to test assumptions, iterate based on playtests, and execute from the ground up with guidance from the Level Director.
Strong Portfolio: Clear demonstration of your design process, spatial layouts, and level iteration.
This isn't a role where you’ll be a cog in a machine. This is an opportunity to be a key decision-maker in a small, tight-knit team where your impact is visible and valued every day. We believe that great work is done by happy people.
Competitive Salary: We offer a competitive salary that is commensurate with your expertise and the market.
Work-Life Balance: Enjoy 5 weeks of paid vacation. We believe in building a healthy, sustainable studio culture.
Relocation & Barcelona Life: Our beautiful office is located in central Barcelona, complete with a rooftop terrace, a gym, and a fantastic community. We are ready to help with relocation for the right candidate.
Comprehensive Benefits: We provide free private health insurance, a €200 monthly stipend for meals and transportation, and a yearly allowance for professional development.
Team & Culture: We are a team of talented people who love what they do and support each other. You can look forward to regular team events and after-work hangouts.
Send your portfolio, as well as your CV and cover letter in English. We review applications continuously, so don’t wait!
