Explore our social media and check out our YouTube channel and Beyond the Game Blog where we share behind-the-scenes insights and stories direct from our team members! ## Job Description **CD PROJEKT RED** is looking for a **Senior Gameplay QA Analyst** to join our Boston studio working on **Project Orion**, the next game in the Cyberpunk franchise. In this role, you will focus on ensuring the highest gameplay quality by identifying, analyzing, and verifying issues related to mechanics, combat systems, progression, AI, UI, interactions, and overall player experience. You will collaborate closely with designers, programmers, and the broader QA team to maintain gameplay consistency, technical integrity, and player engagement throughout the game’s development. **Key Responsibilities:** - Planning and execution of complex test strategies and test plans for large-scale gameplay systems and features. - Collaborate with developers and designers during feature development, providing early input on potential quality risks and proposing mitigation strategies. - Analyze and identify gaps in test coverage, proactively improving test effectiveness across gameplay systems. - Conduct comprehensive testing of core gameplay features such as combat, AI, player progression, UI/UX, and player feedback systems. - Develop and maintain detailed test cases and checklists related to gameplay mechanics, player interactions, system integration, and progression logic. - Monitor ongoing game development and assess the impact of changes, offering guidance to QA teams to ensure continued coverage and consistency. - Review and refine test documentation created by QA team members and specialists to maintain project standards. - Provide comprehensive gameplay feedback including mechanics feel, usability, UI behavior, balance, pacing, and overall game flow, ensuring alignment with the game’s design vision. - Serve as a bridge between QA and development teams, ensuring that quality goals are clearly communicated and met across departments. - Prepare detailed reports and actionable insights on test outcomes, presenting key findings to senior management and stakeholders. - Mentor and support junior QA Analysts and Specialists, promoting knowledge sharing and adherence to QA best practices. - Participate in cross-functional meetings to influence project decision-making and align QA objectives with broader production goals. ## Qualifications - 5+ years of experience working in a gameplay QA or similar role, with at least 1-2 years in a senior or leadership capacity. - Proven experience in creating and executing test plans and strategies for complex gameplay systems. - Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate quality risks during all stages of development. - Experience documenting test processes and bugs using tools like JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent. - Deep understanding of video games and their gameplay systems (combat, AI, progression, player feedback, UI/UX, etc.). - Strong ability to analyze gameplay experiences and provide meaningful, constructive feedback to development teams. - Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally. - Analytical thinker with a systematic and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving. - Familiarity with various commercial game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity). - Passion for video games and gameplay systems in narrative-driven RPGs. **Nice to Haves** (Please note that these skills are not required to apply for the position): - Basic knowledge of automation tools or scripting for QA processes. - Experience working in an Agile environment. ## Additional Information The application window for this position will close by 07/31/2026. **This job requires working in Boston, US.** **Working mode: in-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity.** **Health & Well-Being** - Company-paid medical healthcare (dental, vision, and mental). - Free mental health support, including access to counseling, psychiatric care, and a variety of well-being webinars. - Paid leave - 26 days of vacation, 10 sick days, & 12 calendar holidays per year. - 401K with employer matching. - Gym Membership Reimbursement. - Menstrual leave — employees who menstruate can take one extra day off when experiencing period pain. - RED Parents Network — support for working parents, including childcare benefits, and family-friendly events. **Perks & Professional Growth** - Flexible working hours. - Trainings, lectures, and courses — internal workshops, knowledge-sharing initiatives, online tutorials, and e-learning classes are all available. - A welcome pack filled with goodies — to help you feel right at home once you join the team. **Life in the Office** - Dog-friendly office — bring your pooch with you and look after them while working!
