About this job

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Foundations team for Apex Legends, you will design, build, and maintain core technology to create engaging gameplay and fantastic player experiences. This role involves collaborating with various teams to gather requirements, implement, test, optimize, and enhance features and toolchain support across a wide array of systems, including collision, physics, audio, and rendering.

Requirements

- Passion for making and playing games. - Excellent C/C++ skills. - 10+ years experience in game development as an engineer. - Shipped at least one AAA title. - Experience with large code bases and optimizing code, data, and bandwidth to improve both memory consumption and execution speed. - Excellent math skills with an emphasis on 3D math. - Excellent understanding of computation and evidence-based optimization. - Engineering experience working with consoles (Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft). - Engineering experience working with Windows PC (Microsoft/Steam/Origin). - Bachelor's CS/Math degree or higher preferred (or equivalent work experience). - Experience with PS5, XBSX (XB5) console generation. - Familiarity with functional programming. - Linux debugging experience. - Console programming experience on a multiplayer AAA game. - Solid foundation in TCP and UDP networking. - Prior professional experience as a respected engineer on a game team. - Comfortable in/with Windows, Linux, Perforce, Visual Studio, curl, PHP, LUA/Squirrel.
