THE OPPORTUNITY:
As Senior Environment Artist, you will own environment creation from early concept and blockout through final in-engine implementation and polish. This is a hands-on role focused on building large-scale environments, landmarks, and supporting asset sets with strong composition, atmosphere, readability, and performance.
You will work closely with art, design, technical art, and engineering to create performant, visually rich spaces that support gameplay and worldbuilding. This role is ideal for someone who can take full ownership of environment areas, solve technical and production challenges, and help raise the overall quality bar for environment art across the project.

Own environment creation from early concept and blockout through final in-engine implementation and polish. Build large-scale environments, vistas, and landmark spaces with strong composition, readability, and atmosphere. Create high-quality environment assets, including modular kits, hero assets, and supporting props. Develop and implement complex materials and shader setups. Translate concept art into fully realized, performant in-game environments. Take responsibility for in-engine scene assembly, layout, set dressing, and world building. Optimize environments for performance, memory, and scalability across target platforms. Define and maintain best practices for environment implementation. Collaborate closely with technical art and engineering to solve pipeline and performance challenges. Identify risks related to environment scope, performance, and production timelines. Contribute to visual consistency across the project by upholding and reinforcing the established art direction. Mentor other artists through feedback and knowledge sharing. Be a feature owner for the Environment art team. 5+ years of experience in environment art for games, with at least one shipped title. Proven ability to own environments end to end. Deep understanding of real-time environment pipelines. Strong technical proficiency working within modern game engines, including debugging, profiling, and optimization. Experience building large-scale environments and vistas. Demonstrated experience creating modular environments and scalable asset systems. Solid understanding of performance constraints and optimization. Experience creating and implementing complex material systems. Ability to balance artistic quality with technical limitations and production realities. Strong communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills. Self-driven and comfortable taking ownership of large features or environment areas.
