This role is for Angstrom Sports, a proprietary sports pricing and product provider, building intricate, simulation driven pricing and risk systems to support the success of key sports brands across the Entain group.
Founded in 2018 and having established itself as a pioneer in player-level, play-by-play simulations and forecasting, Angstrom was acquired by Entain in 2023. As Data Science Manager, you are responsible for managing the Leads of multiple sport-specific modelling teams. You ensure consistency, alignment, and delivery across the portfolio of models while supporting the career development of Lead Data Scientists.
You will work closely with the Head of Data Science on planning, staffing, and setting the direction for the function. You will be instrumental in scaling the data science capability and ensuring technical quality, delivery efficiency, and team cohesion across the department.

Demonstrated success managing Data Science Leads and growing high-performing teams, with 2+ years of management experience across multiple modelling projects. Skilled in aligning delivery across diverse projects and technical domains, possessing a strong technical background in model development and deployment. Advanced programming experience (R/Python/C#/Java) and excellent communication skills are essential. Proven ability to manage hiring, performance, and team development, along with familiarity in cross-functional planning and capacity management. Domain expertise in sports modelling or betting products is required. Experience building or scaling data science functions, familiarity with model governance, and knowledge of data/ML tooling challenges are desirable. A STEM degree or provable numerate/quantitative skills are preferred.
