Senior Accountant - Technical Accounting

The Role

We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting to support the company’s IFRS accounting and reporting activities. This role will focus on technical accounting research, contract review, accounting memo preparation, month-end close support, consolidation activities, and coordination with external auditors. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Technical Accounting Manager, Finance leadership, Corporate Accounting, and external auditors to ensure accounting conclusions are well-supported, consistently applied, and aligned with IFRS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and business arrangements to assess accounting implications, including revenue recognition under IFRS 15 and lease accounting under IFRS 16;
• Prepare technical accounting memos and position papers covering revenue, leases, impairment, provisions, consolidation, related parties, and other key IFRS topics;
• Support the month-end close process through trial balance reviews, account analysis, and identification of unusual or judgmental items;
• Prepare and review consolidation entries, including intercompany eliminations, reclassifications, accruals, and other group reporting adjustments;
• Assist with miscellaneous technical accounting and finance projects as directed by the Technical Accounting Manager;
• Coordinate with external auditors during year-end audits, including both local statutory audits and group audit requirements;
• Support audit request preparation, evidence gathering, walkthroughs, and resolution of auditor questions;
• Work cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Tax, FP&A, and business teams to understand transactions and assess accounting impacts;
• Update accounting policies to reflect newest standards and create training material for both finance and non-finance personnel.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience;

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, with experience researching and applying accounting guidance;

• Experience reviewing contracts for accounting implications, particularly revenue recognition and lease accounting;

• Strong technical writing skills, including experience preparing accounting memos or audit support documentation;

• Experience with month-end close, trial balance reviews, and consolidation entries;

• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate clearly with stakeholders;

• Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment;

• Public accounting audit experience is preferred but not required;

• CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification is preferred but not required;

• Experience working in a multinational group reporting environment is a plus.
