Job Summary
Join Fools Theory as a Material Artist to craft photorealistic materials for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt expansion, collaborating with CD PROJEKT RED. This role offers a chance to work with experienced gamedev veterans on a AAA title, with flexible hours and remote work options.
About this job
As a Material Artist, you will create photorealistic materials for various uses, build and maintain a high-quality PBR material library, and collaborate with art and technical teams. This role involves contributing to concepts, optimizing shaders, and working with scanned data to achieve a consistent visual style for game projects.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant industry experience and at least one shipped AAA title.
- A portfolio showcasing realistic, high-quality, game-ready materials and textures.
- Strong skills in procedural material creation software (Adobe Substance 3D Designer).
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop or equivalent tools.
- Experience with prototyping and creating master materials in engine.
- Solid skills in at least one major modeling package (3ds Max, Maya, Blender, etc.).
- Good knowledge of colour theory and lighting technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of physically based rendering practices (PBR).
- Experience with the Photogrammetry asset creation workflow and mentoring other team members in this area.
- Fluent in English.
