Description
We are hiring a 3D Character Artist on a freelance/contract basis. You will need to solve a wide range of problems with well-rounded experience across multiple disciplines, with specialization in Character production workflow. You thrive on collaboration and report to the Lead Artist to work as a team towards the monthly content pushes and milestones. You have a natural curiosity for all parts of the creative pipeline, and invest time improving your skills.
This is a fully remote, project-based engagement: scope, deliverables, timelines, and rates are defined per
work order. It is not a full-time employment position.

Full proficiency in software packages and tools of the games industry listed below
Surface knowledge on the following softwares and tools
Intermediate proficiency in the following tools:
Passion for game development.
Proficiency in Game Engine technologies such as Unreal with asset integration
Experience with the game art asset pipeline, i.e. highpoly and efficient game ready lowpoly modelling, texturing and baking.

- Create high-quality 3D environment assets including modular kits and props. - Take ownership of levels from blockout to final polish, including lighting and composition. - Ensure all assets meet performance and technical budgets. - Collaborate closely with Art Directors, Technical Artists, and Level Designers. - Maintain high standards of quality and consistency across environments. - 4-6+ years of experience as an Environment Artist, with 2+ years at a senior level. - Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality environment art, modular workflows, and level composition. - High proficiency in industry-standard tools like Unreal Engine, Maya/Max/Blender, Substance Painter/Designer. - Experience creating game-ready assets with a strong understanding of current practices (e.g., Nanite, texel density, performance budgets). - Strong understanding of lighting, composition, and environmental storytelling. - Ability to take ownership of work from concept/blockout through to final in-engine implementation. - Experience working collaboratively in a cross-functional game development team. - Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating immersive realistic urban environments. - Ability to work autonomously in a remote-first, fast-paced environment.
