Help Moon Active craft world-leading casual mobile game experiences by designing and building new gameplay elements in Unity, leveraging data, and leading R&D into AI-powered design workflows for millions of players globally.
Moon Active is one of the world's top mobile game companies, leveraging creative tools and technology to craft fun and interactive games enjoyed by millions worldwide. We produce exciting and engaging entertainment for players across the globe and pride ourselves on developing top-quality casual games that invite and allow players to connect with one another.
We’re looking for a Level Designer to join a multi-game level-based studio, where players enjoy a wide range of experiences—from the eat-and-grow chaos in Hole Stars to the conveyor-based puzzle sorting of Jelly Busters.
As a Level Designer, you will collaborate with a team to craft world-leading player experiences and content. You will own level creation and improvements across features, prototypes, and game balance—concepting and setting up engaging new gameplay elements in Unity, finding practical ways to make content creation smoother, and using player data to tune and polish your work. You will also help explore modern, smart workflows (including AI-assisted design tools) to help us prototype, generate, and balance exciting content faster. This is an exciting opportunity to work on many new games with a team of passionate, experienced professionals on top-tier products.
Responsibilities
Creating best-in-class casual content in line with our design pillars, to excite and engage players.
Playtesting your own work and that of fellow designers to ensure quality and consistency of gameplay.
Structuring and ordering content to onboard game concepts and mechanics, as well as providing the best variety and challenge for the games.
Using player data and feedback to inform and balance existing content and guide the direction for future levels.
Assisting the level design team with streamlining content creation and team workflows.
Supporting and collaborating with the wider team across various disciplines (Production, QA, Art, Product, etc.) from a level design perspective.
Requirements
A passion for gaming, particularly casual mobile games.
A solid grasp of level design principles and an up-to-date knowledge of the casual mobile audience, game markets, and player motivations.
Practical experience working within game engines such as Unity or Unreal to set up, build, and adjust level content.
Familiarity with modern design productivity tools or AI-assisted content tools to streamline design workflows.
Ability to review player data, difficulty progression, and engagement metrics to make informed decisions on level tuning.
Advantages
Experience in mobile game design, QA, or general game creation.
A degree in Game Design or a related field.
Experience improving design workflows, templates, or level production processes.
Experience sharing design best practices or helping teammates adopt new design tools.
