About this job

The Publishing Lead (Internal Job title: Product Manager III) oversees the implementation of the player experience of VALORANT in the Oceania market. You will manage publishing efforts and prioritize publishing opportunities in Oceania. 

You will lead Riot’s long-term strategy for VALORANT in Oceania, scale our seasonal publishing efforts and programs, establish the scope of media work, community building, and local channel strategy. This includes building the larger game ecosystem (community, partnerships) all while prioritizing the audience experience. You will also be responsible for evaluating and managing partners and ICs contributing to the product’s success.

This role reports to the Regional Publishing Product Lead, VALORANT APAC.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide local publishing strategy to ensure our goals, player needs and game health metrics are achieved
  • Collaborate across Brand, Creative, Influencer, Social and PR teams to champion player-first ideas and help build campaigns and strategies that support goals at the global and local level
  • Lead community and media efforts from briefing, to successful execution, impact analysis & reporting
  • Make key decisions across the region’s communications strategies, audience targeting, performance measurement and integration of community channels
  • Represent and advocate your region’s market and its needs to the global team
  • Build and scale local partnerships to support the local community and game ecosystem

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience in a publishing, business development or product management role
  • 3+ years directly managing an initiative, program, or small team
  • Experience building business strategies and managing company and team resources to achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong understanding of regional/cultural landscape and gaming communities in Australia and New Zealand

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with community best practices, including communication strategies, user acquisition, and driving users through the funnel
  • Hands-on or strategic experience with creating and executing Marketing, Social Media and Influencer campaigns
  • Experience working with a variety of levels, from coordinator briefings to selling strategy to senior partners
  • You can plan contingencies and move autonomously
  • You understand the art of channel management, from technical fundamentals to the creation of content that delights and surprises its users
