As a member of the Infrastructure Foundation Hardware Engineering team, you will help develop and validate next-generation server platforms that power a reliable, high-performing, and cost-efficient infrastructure at scale. You will work across platform bring-up, firmware qualification, hardware validation, fleet integration, and performance optimization to support large-scale production deployments.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.

$243,290—$295,250 USD
Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).

Drive hardware development lifecycle including feasibility, bring-up, validation, deployment, and support. Perform platform integration, performance characterization, and system-level debugging, focusing on hardware optimization, driver tuning, and thermal/power efficiency. Develop and execute rigorous evaluation and stress-testing for server platforms. Support BIOS/BMC firmware qualification, hardware health monitoring, and automation tooling. Partner with vendors and internal teams to investigate component and system failures. Possess 5+ years of hardware engineering or infrastructure validation experience with a BS/MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Strong understanding of Linux server environments, modern data center technologies, and server architecture (PCIe, NVMe, Ethernet/InfiniBand, memory). Hands-on experience testing CPU, Memory, Storage, and high-speed networking subsystems in Linux. Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash for automation. Strong system debugging skills, including kernel logs and bus-level traces. Familiarity with GPU platforms or HPC systems is a plus.
