About this job
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Safety Foundation team at Roblox, you will architect, implement, and grow the core systems that enable the moderation of all content and interactions on the platform. Your work will be crucial in scaling the platform to handle 10x more traffic, rebuilding it to be AI-first, and significantly improving developer velocity for integrating safety capabilities. You will contribute to the architecture and development of the Safety Platform, ensuring high quality, reliability, and scalability for over 100+ million daily active users.
Requirements
- Contribute to the architecture & development of the Safety Platform
- Help design & build the developer experience layer that enables product teams across Roblox to integrate safety capabilities in hours, not months
- Take ownership of projects from concept to deployment, ensuring high quality, reliability, and scalability
- Partner closely with Trust & Safety ML, User Safety, Safety Operations, and product teams to translate platform needs into durable infrastructure
- 5+ years of experience building & operating backend services and/or distributed systems
- Proficient in Go or a similar compiled language (Go strongly preferred)
- Experience with or strong interest in building developer platforms
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field — or equivalent experience
- Versatile, adaptable, resourceful, and takes a creative and strategic approach to solving hard problems
- Analytical, excited to investigate large, ambiguous problems, and quantify the problems and the solutions
- User Oriented, always starting with the needs of the user
- Team Oriented, lifting up peers and finding ways to make the team stronger
