We are looking for a Lead Engineer to join our Business Systems Engineering (BSE) organization. We build the platform and applications that power the creation and production of Magic: The Gathering®, Dungeons & Dragons®, and Duel Masters®. These products drive over $2 billion in annual revenue and are beloved by millions of players worldwide. The systems we build are what make that work possible.
This is a role with high impact and real stakes. You'll set technical direction, shape engineering culture, and lead others while staying hands-on. - 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a lead, staff, or senior+ capacity. - Proven track record building and operating production-grade enterprise software with deep understanding of distributed system design. - Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows and critical evaluation of AI-generated code. - Proficiency in C#/.NET, Java, Go or comparable languages, AWS, Docker/ECS/EKS, CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, event-driven systems, and relational database design. - Proven ability to mentor engineers through technical direction, code and design reviews, and career conversations. - Strong sense of ownership and communication skills to drive outcomes with technical and non-technical partners. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
