As a Senior Technical Artist within the COTW team, you will play a critical role in pushing our proprietary tech to its absolute limits. Your mission is to help us release content with stellar performance and next-generation shaders.We are looking for an industry veteran who thrives on autonomy. Once you are ramped up on our internal tools and tech, you won't need handholding, you will proactively identify your own tasks based on high-level team goals and milestone plans. If you love solving deep technical problems, optimizing memory, and rewriting the rules of what's visually possible, this is the perfect playground for you.
Identify performance bottlenecks, profile game content, and implement critical optimizations for memory and performance
Drive shader development, migration, and improvement in close collaboration with our rendering programmers
Maintain, support, and improve artist tooling and pipelines to streamline creative workflows
Work autonomously within the team to translate milestone goals into actionable technical art tasks
Learn and master our internal engine and proprietary tech, getting up to speed quickly with the support form the team.
Proactively collaborate across disciplines, giving and receiving constructive feedback to level up the team’s output
An industry veteran with 8 to 10+ years of experience as an technical artist
A self-motivated problem solver who requires minimal direction and loves finding creative solutions to technical challenges
Highly skilled in Maya with a deep understanding of modern game-engine pipelines and graphics/rendering principles
Strong in scripting with Python and comfortable reading and navigating C++ code bases
Familiar with HLSL (or a similar shading language) and passionate about shader development
An expert at debugging, profiling, and optimizing complex game assets for memory and performance
An excellent communicator who builds strong relationships with the team.
Our Stockholm office is situated in Södermalm, the beating heart of the city’s game industry. It’s a physical representation of our games – the lush vegetation of Just Cause and theHunter: Call of the Wild meets corroded metal straight out of Mad Max. Our hybrid model requires you to be in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays to foster collaboration and creativity.
