About the role
At Keen Software House, QA is not a support function. It is one of the disciplines directly responsible for the success of every release.
We are looking for a QA Lead to take full ownership of the measurement of the quality of Space Engineers. You will lead a team of six experienced QA professionals while being accountable for release stability, testing strategy, quality standards, and continuous improvement across the project.
This role is about much more than managing testers or tracking bugs. We are looking for someone who naturally takes ownership, identifies risks before they become problems, drives quality across teams, and ensures that every release reaches players in the best possible state.

We are looking for someone who
- Has 5+ years of professional experience as QA Lead in game development - preferably with PC and/or console game development
- Has shipped multiple PC or console games through the complete development lifecycle.
- Understands software testing methodologies, release management, and risk-based testing.
- Has experience designing and improving QA processes, not just executing them.
- Strong understanding of test automation strategies, frameworks and best practices.
- Can balance technical quality with production realities.
- Is confident making difficult release recommendations based on evidence.
- Has excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Speaks fluent English.
- Thrives in environments where ownership and accountability matter.
- Is currently based in the Czech Republic or within the EU.
- Is able and willing to travel to Prague, Czech Republic when needed
Nice to have
- Experience with sandbox, simulation, or systems-heavy games.
- Familiarity with telemetry, crash analytics, and live game operations.
- Experience working on long-term live products.
- Passion for engineering-driven games.
What you will own
Product Quality Measurement
Take full ownership of the measurement of the quality of Space Engineers. Continuously raise the quality bar across gameplay, technical systems, content, and releases.
Release Stability
Be accountable for multiplatform release readiness and production stability. Drive objective go/no-go decisions based on risk assessment and quality data.
QA Strategy
Define the project's testing strategy, priorities, quality standards, and long-term QA roadmap. Ensure the team focuses on the areas that create the highest value for both developers and players.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six QA professionals. Build a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous learning, and high execution standards.
Process Improvement
Continuously improve QA workflows, methodologies, and collaboration across Engineering, Design, and Production to make quality an integral part of development rather than a final checkpoint.
Player Experience
Own post-release quality by proactively reducing player-facing issues. Analyze support tickets, crash reports, telemetry, and community feedback to identify root causes and drive long-term improvements.
What you will do
- Be accountable for the overall quality of Space Engineers throughout the entire development lifecycle.
- Lead and support the QA team, helping them grow while maintaining high technical and professional standards.
- Define testing priorities based on project risks, production goals, and player impact.
- Establish and continuously improve QA processes, workflows, and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Production, and Community teams to identify risks early and resolve them efficiently.
- Drive release validation, regression testing, and milestone quality reviews.
- Ensure bugs are reported, prioritized, and communicated with clear business and player impact.
- Monitor post-release quality, investigate recurring issues, and implement preventive improvements.
- Provide leadership with clear visibility into product quality, release risks, and overall QA health.
- Report directly to the Production Director.
